We had lots of fun learning and exploring and asking questions during Science Day. We moved slime using magnets, explored how Oobleck can be a solid and a liquid, inflated balloons by creating a gas with popping candy and fizzy drink, made fizzy fairy potions, melted chocolate and ice and explored colour using skittles sweets and putting celery in food colouring in water. We thought of lots of fantastic ideas as we discussed what was happening and why.
World Book Day - 1st March 2018
We enjoyed dressing up as our favourite book characters and sharing and talking about our favourite stories.
Fab Finish Week - Around the World
We had a fantastic time exploring and learning about India, Japan, Italy and Mexico this week. We made Indian peacocks, Japanese carp kites, Leaning Towers of Pisa from Italy, Mexican piniatas and many other exciting things. We listened to music from the different countries and explored artefacts too.
We also enjoyed tasting korma sauce, rice and popadoms from India, chili, rice and Nachos from Mexico, rice, seaweed and rice crackers from Japan and we made pizzas from Italy.
Giraffes Can't Dance - Dancing from Around World
We enjoyed sharing the story Giraffes Can't Dance. In the story the animals dance the cha cha cha, waltz, tango, rock and roll and the Scottish reel. We watched the dances and then had a go at learning how to dance in our PE lessons. We were fantastic working with our partners and in groups.
Granny Went to Market - Kite Making and Flying
We enjoyed sharing the story Granny Went to Market and finding out about all the amazing things Granny bought in the different countries she went to on her magic flying carpet. We made boomerangs, lanterns and kites. Here are some photos of us having a great time flying the kites we made.
We have had a great day having Christmas dinner and playing games like pass the parcel and musical statues in our Christmas party.
A Wriggly Nativity
We were brilliant at singing, dancing and acting in our Christmas Play - A Wriggly Nativity and made our grown-ups feel very proud.
We loved playing in the snow and exploring how cold the snow and ice felt. We found the snow was crunchy and we could make lots of things out of the snow.
The Little Red Hen - Bread Making and Tasting
This week we have been learning about the story of the Little Red Hen who made a loaf of bread. We tried different types of bread from around the world and described what we could taste, feel and smell.
We loved singing our Harvest songs to our grown ups and sharing with them how we Squiggle Whilst We Wiggle!
Autumn is Coming!
We have been busy exploring the school grounds looking for signs of autumn. We found berries, apples, pine cones and orange, yellow and brown leaves that had fallen from the trees.
