Walk to School Week 15th - 19th May 2017

Walk to School Week

15th – 19th May, 2017
Dear Parents/Carers,

‘Walk to School Week’ is taking place next week from 15th-19th May as part of a National Walking month. We are encouraging you all to walk, scoot or bike to school with your children to be part of this ‘Get Healthy’ campaign. Each class will record everyday how many members of their class walk, scoot or use their bike to get to school. The class with the highest percentage of class members travelling this way will win the amazing ‘Golden shoe’ trophy! Good luck everyone and stay safe.

Story Swap Morning Tuesday 9th May

Dear Parents/ Guardians,

On Tuesday, May 9th we are having a story swap morning where your child chooses one of five stories and goes to a specific class (not necessarily their own) and carries out different activities related to the story. Please bring your child in as normal to their own class on that day. Last year, we combined it with Maths Day and all the books had a maths link. The story swaps have always been a hit with the children and last year was no exception.

We thought it would be a lovely idea to continue with the maths theme in the afternoon on Tuesday 9th May, and have a range of maths activities set up in the class and in our outside areas.

We invite you to join us from 2pm on that Tuesday afternoon to give you an opportunity to see all the different ways we promote maths and to have fun with your child. A real celebration of something important which can also be great fun!
